IMPLEMENTATION OF THE "RURAL FOOD TOUR" PROJECT HAS BEGUN

The associations “Szo-ter” from Szeged and “Digital Region” from Subotica have officially launched the cross-border project "Rural FoodTour." At the opening conference in Szeged, the current state and perspectives in the field of rural tourism were presented. The idea of this project is to help organic producers step into the tourism and hospitality sector. "We are bringing together producers who have expressed readiness through this project, supporting and promoting them. We would like to create a database where all of them will be featured, with films made about them, and young people will also be involved in helping to further promote these producers in their own way," said Daniel Horvat, project manager of Digital Region. The project includes a series of cross-border promotional films about organic and innovative production and its connection with tourism and hospitality. Interestingly, a group of young people from both sides of the border will be involved in the project by learning about this type of agriculture and tourism while receiving training in filming and editing video content for platforms tailored to their generation—social media. In addition, the entire offer will be consolidated into a joint online platform, which will not only contain general information about farms, their offerings, and promotional videos but will also be optimized for booking visits or accommodations. In this regard, a mobile application is also planned, allowing interested tourists to have access to all the information at their fingertips. "Our goal is to bring together as many producers as possible and present their work to a broader audience. We count on the help of young people, who are more engaged in the digital world, to assist in promoting the producers' activities. During the summer camp, we showed them what traditional production truly means," emphasized Tamás Gyulai, associate of the Szo-ter Association from Szeged. The project is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union under the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program "Hungary – Serbia." It will run until November next year.
